I tried anonymous, with and without password in the URL. In all cases it allows
you to browse the remote directory to choose a file to be opened. When an
attempt is made to open a file OO crashes with the following error report:

This I have also experienced and have seen the same on both Windows Vista and
Windows 7. On Windows 7 the problem details are the same i.e. the version of
MSVC is MSVCR90.dll

The problem might be the same as described in bug 122273 comment 2
Should be fixed with revision 1488548

I am pretty sure that this one is a DUP of "Bug 122273 CRASH / Hang when open document via FTP"

Please feel free to reopen this Bug if you find evidence that we have an independent issue here  (for example because the fix for the other bug does not work for you).
