Description Dotan Cohen 2008-12-06 12:35:03 UTC
When editing URLS to add the http:// prefix, Calc does not make the entire URL a
link. Steps to reproduce:
1) Enter "what-is-what.com" into cell
2) Press Enter
3) Return to cell, press F2 to edit
4) Add "http://" to beginning of text
5) ???
6) Profit!

The user expects the link to be the entire URL text (http://what-is-what.com).
However, only the text up to the first dot is part of the link
(http://what-is-what).

Can confirm this with OOo dev300-m35, Win2k SP4.

If you write in one cell:
openoffice.org <HIT ENTER>
go back and edit the cell:
http://www.openoffice.org <HIT ENTER>

Only: http://www.openoffice/ becomes a link, missing the last part!

Do NOT try with www.opneoffice.org during the first step, because this becomes
directly a link. BUT if you do not start with 'www.' within the first step, then
OOo will format only the first part of the URL as a link in the subsequent step.

Another example:
who.is <ENTER>
Go back and edit:
http://who.is <ENTER>
only http://who becomes a link, missing the '.is' part.

I checked with "Ooo 3.0.0 (DE) Multilingual version German UI WIN XP: [OOO300m9
(Build9358)]" and can confirm the reported effect.
