Starting Open Office in a shell window:
	$ ooffice foo:fram.ods
provokes an error box containing:
	This operation is not supported
	on this operating system.
And ooffice dies without further info.

Starting Open Office without an argument
	$ ooffice
and then opening foo:fram.ods works without difficulty.

The same kind of thing happens with files named Foo:fram.odt

Reset the assignee to the default "issues@openoffice.apache.org".
