this happens on Linux with KDE desktop (using kde or gtk plugin in OOo)

KDE settings for selection background is black - bu not using a high contrast
color theme. In OOo Calc the selection range for cells is not visible (should be
transparent grey) only the selection border is visible.

@es: can you check if this is accessability relevant?
