Description beezer137 2009-02-05 00:36:56 UTC
Could someone enhance Open Office to include the ability to decrease and
increase text size by pressing CTRL-[ and CTRL-] respectively? This should be
relatively easy and straightforward to do.

This would make it much easier for me and many others to use this program, and
currently, this is the only annoyance I have with Open Office.

(Please note that this issue was raised in March, 2008, by someone else, but
was never addressed.)

It is more complicate than you might think. [ and ] are no simple keys on some
keyboards layouts. For example, a German keyboard has this characters on third
level (which means pressing Strg and Alt together) on WinXP.

But there is already a request to allow such keys for short cuts, see issue
27081. So it might be better to close this issue and vote on issue 27081 instead.

Besides the special problem with [ and ], you can of cause assign short cuts to
the commands "Increase Font" and "Reduce Font". In addition you can edit the
configuration file to get short cuts, which are not available via the customize
dialog.
