amen :-) setting target and adjusting priority. OD->MRU: Any input from your side on this enhancement request? while examining writer sources, I discovered that there is already some code present to show bidi control characters, but the code is commented out. I have no idea, if this code is actually functional or not. I simply haven't had the time to activate it, and see what happens... If the code is actually working, I would really appreciate a P3 priority and maybe even a 3.3 target. If there is some problem with the code, could someone give a hint, why it was deactivated in the first place? MRU->OD: no, sorry, it would be better to ask SBA on BiDi stuff... This should be a simple icon that's understandable. For example, a character like this ASCII art: RTL LTR <== and ==> This got me thinking of http://qa.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=107413 Created attachment 66475 [details]
Screenshot from MS Word with displayed text direction markers
I attached a screenshot from MS Word (MS Office 2003). To me, it looks like U+21B0 (Upward arrow with tip leftwards) for "LTR" and U+21B1 (Upward arrow with tip rightwards) for "RTL" are used there. sba-> dawnlight: Thanks for your proposal, but note that these markers will NOT get "character space" but must be squeezed behind/between the normal text in order to NOT change the layout, when displaying/hiding them. Thus a "slim" solution as in Word is best. We must assure that these display thingies will be available, so U+21B0 and U+21B1 must be added to the OpenSymbol font that comes along with OOo. Therefore I mentioned them in issue 107419 "Add characters to OpenSymbol font (spaces, dashes, formatting characters)". Reset assigne to the default "issues@openoffice.apache.org". |
