Description hermione1981 2009-02-17 08:52:47 UTC
Writing text, making a second line in one cell (strg+enter), marking the first
line, let it strike through. when exiting the cell, everything is striked
through, not only the first half. the other way (marking the second line) is
working.

@ oc: Please have e look.

I checked with "Ooo 3.0.1 (DE) Multilingual version English UI WIN XP:
[OOO300m15 (Build 9379)]" and can confirm the reported effect. The problem does
not occur if the first line ends with a blank and the blank is not selected for
the new character format.

The problem is not limited to strike through, also other character properties
(size, colour, ...) are affected, but not character position!

The problem does not occour if you leave out last character of the first line.

If you press undo after you left the cell (and modified both lines), only the
second line will be set back to original formatting, you have to press it a
second time to set back also first line to original formatting.

I am pretty sure that I have been involved to this problem in an other issue,
but currently I can't find that other one.

Sorry I forgot to upstream this. The patch was in ooo-build since forever.

Hi Niklas, please have a look

That's a rather crude workaround for the incorrect EditEngine::GetAttribs result
(see also issue 79176).

With a mixture of equal and non-equal attributes, the patch would prevent the
equal attributes from being applied to the cell. "Non-equal" could also be a
hyperlink in this case.

If we can't get a proper fix, the patch might still be better than the current
situation.

@TL: Will EditEngine::GetAttribs be changed before 3.2, or should we use this
workaround?

I'm adding this comment to all open issues with Issue Type == PATCH. We have 220 such issues, many of them quite old. I apologize for that.

We need your help in prioritizing which patches should be integrated into our next release, Apache OpenOffice 4.0.

If you have submitted a patch and think it is applicable for AOO 4.0, please respond with a comment to let us know.

On the other hand, if the patch is no longer relevant, please let us know that as well.

If you have any general questions or want to discuss this further, please send a note to our dev mailing list: dev@openoffice.apache.org

Thanks!
