Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 100404
A proper color palette/picker for usage in the entire suite
Last modified: 2009-10-06 11:49:13 UTC
The current color palette/picker is highly limited, allowing to select from a set array of colors and thats it. Without starting to modify files. This is inconvenient and a basic feature for every piece of software i used. I also noted that there are some places in OpenOffice that a really old and strange looking color picker is used this also needs to be replaced.
Created attachment 61067 [details] This is to show that even simple programs have a better color picker (Just dont get me wrong on this i want you to get a good color picker not a simple one like MSPaint's)
Oops there is an editor for the palette and color picker but its only available under the options tab for editing the palette. What should be done i think is to add a button on the bottom of the color palette that says custom that pops up a color picker that allows you to select a color. And even better yet is an extra area that will show you N recent colors that you choose using custom.
I double this, limited color picker is the most inconvenient thing I ever used. It is strange to see that many bizarre features most people never heard of are quickly fixed, but such a basic thing as being able to easily select a custom _color_ is completely ignored. I've searched the issues and found that people are complaining about this since at least _4 years_ now, but such bugs are either ignored or closed with WONTFIX.
Duplicate of Issue 20105. Please move votes and comments accordingly. To manage the many suggestions for enhancing the color palette, I have created a meta-issue here: Issue 105642 - Re-design and UI improvements for color palettes (meta-issue) The purpose of the new issue is for management only, it does not duplicate specific design requests (that we wish to capture). Many thanks, Andrew *** This issue has been marked as a duplicate of 20105 ***
