When designing an enum type with the help of the New IDL file wizard, the enum
values ("Name"s in the wizard) are not reflected on the respective tree nodes if
you edit the value in-line (in the Properties pane, you type a value for
"Name"); only "enumN" where n is an increasing number starting with 0. 

For the value to be set at the tree node, you have to press the "..." button and
then OK in the dialog that shows the enum name.
