Description Unknown 2002-12-15 22:35:27 UTC
Entered special characters from Starbats are displayed correctly on entering
them in the document.

If the saved document is reopened, some of the symbols display as little
rectangles. Other symbols are unaffected.

Documents in Staroffice 5 format that have these symbols when opened in
openoffice display the same rectangles.

Openoffice 1.0.1 on Mandrake 9.

Please try using the latest OOo 1.1 Rc5,
Your version already old enough, and many bug fixes since your version
and 1.1 RC5. If the problem still happend in 1.1 RC5 please report back

I can confirm the issue occurs again on Openoffice 1.1.

Interestingly if the file is saved in Microsoft Word/XP format, it is
opened correctly displaying the right symbols.

However if the file is saved in the native openoffice format, on
opening again the symbol is displayed as a rectangle.

This issue is rather old, but since you've said you can confirm this in OOo
1.1.0 please provide exact details what Starsymbols cause the problem. If you
have a bugdoc, please attach.
