Text in textbox disappear when exporting file to PDF

When creating a file with a textbox in it the text in the text box disappear Hhen exporting the file to PDF format. 1. Open writer 2. Create a textbox and write somthing in it 3. Export file to pdf. 4. Open pdf file just created . The text in the textbox is missing Windows vista, Adobe reader 8
Please attach a sample document (odt). What kind of "Text box" do you mean? "Insert - Frame"? A Draw shape object? A form text box? Cannot reproduce using 310m7 and exporting a text frame or a Draw object.
And also the pdf file please
I cannot reproduce the problem either using a drawing text box or a frame. Please attach a sample document. Thanks for supporting us!
OOo310m9, Windows Vista I can reproduce this issue for the drawing text box, but not for the frame. 1. Open a new text document 2. Insert a drawing text boix and type something in it (I typed "The initial document"), don't save the document as .odt file 3. Export as PDF... - file "i 101191 Textbox not saved.pdf" 4. Open .pdf file - no text 5. Return to .odt document and save as "i 101191 Textbox.odt" 6. Export as PDF... - file "i 101191 Textbox saved not closed.pdf" 7. Open .pdf file - no text 8. Close "i 101191 Textbox.odt" and reopen it 9. Export as PDF... - file "i 101191 Textbox saved closed reopened.pdf" 10. Open .pdf file - there is text "The initial document"

Still cannot reproduce it using 310m8 on Windows Vista 32 bits. Do you have 64 bits? Any other info?
I have Windows Vista Home Premium,processor Intel(R0 Core(TM)Duo CPU, 32-bit Operating System
I can now also reproduce this on WinXP. Problem is not the platform or saving the document. One must not leave the text box before exporting to pdf - then the text box content will not be exported. MRU->HI: please assign to appropriate developer. Thanks!
@pl: Reproducible only with not saved new document! And do not leave the drawing-TextBox while pdf export.
I can reproduce that on system Windows XP with version OOO310m9 (build:9396).
pl->od: in other exports that does not happen; however the new Texbox in edit mode does not seem to get output during PDF export. Works however in draw, so I guess it's a writer problem ?
First investigation reveals that the described defect only occurs directly after inserting a Draw text box and having inserted some text in it. When having inserted a Draw text box, typed some text in it and have left the Draw text box (e.g. having set the cursor into the main body text), then the defect no longer occurs when the PDF export is triggered while in editing mode in this Draw text box. It also reveals that the defect has been introduced in OOo 3.1. OOo 3.0.1 and former versions work fine. od->smith77, natalia_hitekschool, vseredkine_hitekschool, hi and mru: Please confirm or reject my investigations. Workaround: Leave the Draw text box before performing the PDF export Due to limited resources and because this issue does not seem to be serious (only occurs in special situation and simple workaround exists) I re-target this issue to OOo 3.x
