Open attached file.
It have casual column number one, with equal widht of all cells.
Select this column by mouse keypressed.
Press right mouse key, and select Column - Width.
Change it to 5 cm, for example, submit.
Only one cell wil be resize (see issue 102075 too).

Clear the column selection. And try to select it again by mouse keypressed 
(left mouse key). All spreadsheet will be selected. Why?

In another way, you can try to use context menu Column - Select in any cells in 
thes column. The result can be differ, bun not true also.

@MRU: for sure we have a duplicate for this. Seems to have been "always there".
Same in 2.4.

Yes, it is the same root cause as issue 17245.
