Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 102238
Contour text wrap from O-O v3.0 file fails in O-O v3.1
Last modified: 2017-05-20 10:30:50 UTC
A text document created using Writer in Open Office 3.0 with a linked picture inserted and the Contour Text Wrap feature in use, does not work correctly in Open Office 3.1 Initially no contour wrap is shown at all, but after some (unfortunately increasingly random) clicking around the picture properties tabs it does show "some" contour wrap but not at all as it was displayed in 3.0 After clearing the contour completely and creating a new contour map, 3.1 briefly displays text wrap correctly. However scrolling away and back is all it takes to cause the text wrap to fail again. My only solution was to revert to 3.0 as my text document has a way to go yet. Am not sure of exact version number of 3.1 as have uninstalled - was downloaded on 25th May 2009 at around 12 noon U.K. time.
Please attach a sample document.
Cannot confirm with my sample files. As ES already mentioned, please attach your sample to this issue.
Created attachment 62549 [details] Zip containing ODT Doc page and TIF file to link to.
Have uploaded a zip file containing the page with the problem and the image itself. Obviously the path to the image will need editing in the picture properties dialogue box. Hope this helps.
@MBA/OD: something seems to be definitively broken since 3.0. I'll attach screenshots: - in_3.0.JPG: how it used to look like in 3.0 - open.JPG: how it looks like when opening in a current (m8/m11/m48) version (BUG). - after_save_reload.JPG: how it looks like after: 1) Editing contour, auto-contour 2) saving in those versions (BUG).

Investigation reveals the following: - OOo somehow gets in trouble, because the size of the graphic does not seem to be consistently stored in the graphic's file format respectively consistently imported by OOo: -- Open the given document in OOo 3.0 -- Enlarge the page size to 30cm x 30cm -- Open the graphic's dialog -- On pane "Type" hit button "Original Size" ---> graphic size is set to 28,73cm x 22,03cm -- On pane "Crop" look at original size given above button "Original Size" ---> graphic size is 17,24cm x 13,21cm I saved the graphic with MS Paint and used this saved graphic to create a new text document in OOo 3.0. This text document looks fine in OOo 3.1 I also saved the graphic with GIMP and used this saved graphic to create a new text document in OOo 3.0. This text document looks wrong in OOo 3.1 Further investigation together with some graphic experts is needed. BTW, the storing of the contour for graphics in TIFF file format seems to be completely broken. Try to create a text document with a graphic in TIFF file format in OOo 3.1 from scratch and you will see after a save-and-reload cycle.
Please take over
Unfortunately, I have to re-target this issue to the next release due to limited resources.
Due to limited resources it is not clear if this issue can be solved in OOo 3.3. To be honest I am adjusting the target.
fixed in cws sw34bf05 - changed file: /sw/source/core/docnode/ndnotxt.cxx, change set http://hg.services.openoffice.org/cws/sw34bf05/rev/d5359c669392 defect causes: - In case that the contour polypolygon is stored in pixel unit and the graphic's unit is not pixel, the conversion of the contour does not consider the graphic's resolution. - In case that the contour polypolygon has been retrieved for the UNO-API - e.g. for ODF export - the needed conversion to 100th mm unit was wrong.
