In IMPRESS. Create an object (Ex. a rectangle) and add an animation effect to it 
(appear - fly in).
In the animation effect's timming, chose "Repeat until end of slide".
Done.

In presentation show, this effect runs ONLY ONE TIME, regardless of the repeat
setting.
