Description de_logics 2009-06-05 09:27:45 UTC
In the attached file, edit the draw OLE, the size changes dramatically.

Restoring the draw object to its original size does help a lot but sill the
width seems a little extra.

Comment 7 de_logics 2009-06-05 19:34:21 UTC
aaaa...those are PNG images...so add that extension...forgot to do that.
Comment 8 eric.savary 2009-06-08 23:18:59 UTC
"In the attached file, edit the draw OLE, the size changes dramatically."

Compared to what? When doing what?

Please learn to describe an issue correctly:
"- Open the attached document
- Do this with the object
- Do that with the object
-> after doing that, the object is like that"
Comment 9 eric.savary 2009-06-08 23:19:36 UTC
Not reproducible because problem not understood.
Comment 10 de_logics 2009-06-09 06:29:30 UTC
Compared to what it appeared outside the edit mode of the OLE.

You see no size difference?

Actually it wont be classified as a bug if the OLE is made to edit in the first
attached document...cause in the edit mode, draw WILL the graph's original size.

However even if I restore the OLE to its original size (obviously not in edit
mode), then also there is a size difference while editing and when not editing.

Hope you're getting it.......
"- Open the attached document
- Do this with the object
- Do that with the object
-> after doing that, the object is like that"

Believe it or not, I did do exactly this but the last point slightly incomplete.

I said:
-------

"- Open the attached document

-------

You answered:
-------

We are here in the 5th dimension of the human understanding...
I ask myself reading this and other issues from you if you are:
- joking
- a troll
- dumb
- maybe all of that

Closing as WORKSFORME because I don't notice significant differences between the
View and Edit mode of the OLE object.

Or you learn how to describe a problem correctly or someone else will be able to
confirm AND describe correctly.
Then the issue can be reopened.

"You answered:
-------

Now that should have redirected you to to my previous statements -

"In the attached file, edit the draw OLE, the size changes dramatically.

Restoring the draw object to its original size does help a lot but sill the
width seems a little extra."

So according to your statements to address to an issue -

- Open the attached document --"In the attached file"
- Do this with the object --"edit the draw OLE"
- Do that with the object --"edit the draw OLE"
-> after doing that, the object is like that" -- "the size changes dramatically.

Restoring the draw object to its original size does help a lot but sill the
width seems a little extra."

What else should I have added?

Ok, I also added this which I initially did not after thinking of this as an
obvious and understood step -

"Compared to what it appeared outside the edit mode of the OLE."

So most probably you're not able to reproduce it cause it is actually not
getting reproduced in your system (so might be Linux specific).

I can confirm the problem. But I tend more to say that this is a problem in Draw
- because Draw has general problem providing the correct visible area for the
OLE object (see also issue 72879 e.g.)

MRU->CL: open the attached odt and activate the Draw OLE. Now resize the object
so that all elements are visible. Deactivate the object and see that at the
bottom and at the right the objects are cropped again. Maybe this is related to
issue 72879 ("Wrong size when inserting Draw slide as OLE object").
Comment 15 de_logics 2009-07-03 08:33:58 UTC
If the OLE is scaled, I think it's ok for Draw to show the real size of the
object when its activated.

This issue should have an earlier milestone...it causes quiet a lot of headache.
