Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 103179
ODF, presentation from MS-Office2007sp2 shows subtitle placeholder
Last modified: 2017-05-20 11:43:20 UTC
When opening a ODP presentation created by MS-Office 2007sp2, the placeholder "Click to edit Master subtitle style" is shown. This isn't the case for the title ("Click yo edit Master title style"), and the latter is of course the intended behavior In the attached ODP, these title and subtitle placeholders can be found in the draw:frame with draw:id's id0 and id1 (styles.xml) Apparently, OOo is hardcoded to hide a draw:frame with presentation:class set to "title", and/or to show them when the class is "subtitle" (as can be demonstrated by setting presentation:class to "subtitle" on the title in id0 and "title", this "moves" the problem) It is unclear what presentation:placeholder does (seems to be ignored / overridden) in this example See also http://plugtest.opendocsociety.org/doku.php? id=scenarios:20090623:presentation-placeholder
Created attachment 63262 [details] presentation created in MS-Office2007sp2, placeholder visible in OOo
I see the error too with DEV300m50 and with OOo242 both on WinXP. I get the error too with a new document in MS PowerPoint 2007.

Presentation shapes on the master page with placeholder:true attribute should not be visible on the slide itself or during slideshow. Since I already saw ms generated files with a lot of "placeholder=false" and OOo also created some documents with no placeholder attribute at all for placeholder, I will implement that OOo hides all presentation shaps on the master page when the slide is displayed. See issue 96406 for details
See issue 96406 for updated details. I changed OOo behaviour in cws impress177 for OOo 3.2 to always hide all presentation shapes from master pages (except the header footer ones as documented in the OpenDocument specification) when rendered as background for slides.
verified in cws, back to qa
Verified in CWS.
Still occurs in the 3.2 RC1.
