Description stgries 2009-07-14 21:05:02 UTC
I am creating a slideshow in Impress, I use Lucida Console as the font. In one
particular line, I want to write this (using HTML to show what the line is
supposed to look like)

<i>p</i>Fisher-Yates exact test

In Impress, the subscript is set to subscript, lower by 26%, decrease font by
58%. Now the problem:

As long as the cursor is within the text frame in which the above text is shown,
everything's fine. As soon as I leave that text frame or start the presentation,
the above text gets shown on the screen as if I had set the character spacing to
condensed, 2pt.

Without being in edit mode the text looks very bumpy and rugged though the font
is installed. Reassigned.

As far as I recall, this bug has existed since 3.0, and as far as I can tell it
is not font-specific and thus very easy to reproduce. It appears that the text
is condensed by the relative font size set for the subscript/superscript.
Unfortunately the condensation is carried over to exported PDFs, so subscripts
and superscripts of more than a single letter are best replaced with manually
resized and repositioned text for now.

I get the same problem with different fonts in 3.1.1 on opensuse linux. It's a
frustrating problem.

Thus bug also seems to affect oodraw on Linux (version 3.1.1). It is very
annoying, especially the Impress-Bug, because it breaks all of my existing
presentations (which used to work prior to OOO 3.0)! Please fix!
