Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 103734
message "Not enough disc space" does not indicate which filesystem is out of disk space
Last modified: 2013-08-07 15:26:05 UTC
The setup program does not give a clear indication of what the default installation directory is, or what file system if referred to by the insufficient disc space error message. In this example, the system has only 200M free in /opt. Untar OOo_3.1.0_LinuxIntel_install_wJRE_en-US.tar.gz into /tmp (as root) cd /tmp/OOO310_m11_native_packed-2_en-US.9399 ./setup Pick "Custom" install. Choose to install all items/packages/options, click Next. An error pop-up appears and tell you (not exact wording) 4xx,xxx kbytes are required, but only 2xx,xxx kbytes are available. The console simple reports "Not enough disc space". At this point in the installation (unless you RTFM) you do not know where the default installation directory is (it is shown on the next screen, if this error does not occur), and the installer does not indicate where the disk space is insufficient (you have to guess, and/or compare the 'available' space shown in the pop-up to your real disk allocation). Please keep in mind that some machines have /usr, /var, /opt, /tmp, etc on different mount points, i.e. not everything is under /.
The message box shows also "Please use another directory..." which is not possible.
