Can reproduce it in DEV300m53

How to reproduce it
1 Open a new Calc doc
2 Enter some characters in a cell
3 Insert - Object - Formula, enter a formula "a/b" without double quotes
4 Format - Page - switch to background tab As color, Background color: Blue - OK

Result
Can't see background in the file, but can see the background in Page preview

Expectation
Can see background in the file

Note 
Characters in file and formula font color are not changed, they are still black,
not white

the way to see background in the file:

Tools - Options - OpenOffice.org - Appearance - Document background - Select a
color preferred = OK

But this cannot change the background of the formula input.

Also the mark / boundaries of selected cell is not changed, still black,
difficult to locate.
