Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 104131
Italic+Bold results in slanted roman bold
Last modified: 2014-01-28 13:37:30 UTC
When using "Fontin" (for example, maybe others work, too), creating text in bold italic results in bold slanted roman type. This is not an issue with the font: bold+italic results in a true-italic bold in at least Abiword, Firefox, and everywhere in Gnome/GTK. Steps to reproduce: . Create a new OpenOffice.org document. . Type text. . Select text, turn on Bold and Italic at the same time . Notice that the font is not actually bold italic, but slanted roman bold Expected behavior: . Resulting text should be in true-italic bold.
@sba: Please have a look
I reproduced the described behaviour with OOo 3.1RC1 and OOo 2.4.1. But added as first step to reproduce: . Install "Fontin" font (from www.josbuivenga.demon.nl/fontin.html) With "Fontin" bold+italic-text looks as described by sxeraverx. In Thunderbird bold+italic looks fine. (See the Screenshot attached.) With the Standard fonts in contrast true-italic works fine in OOo. So I think, the issue is related with that special font, although Fontin is true-italic in Firfox+Thunderbird.
