Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 105160
Visual c++ Runtime error when saving xls or do other Save /export actions
Last modified: 2013-01-29 21:48:08 UTC
The file 'example.xls', made with a german Excel 2000 includes references to an external xls file and SVERWEIS functions (VLOOKUP). I open example.xls with OOO310m19 on WinXP SP2 and answer the question about the references with 'no'. If I save this file with 'save as' in xls-format, Calc shows after a long Time a windows message box about an error in visual c++ runtime library. The same action with OOO 3.0.1 save the file correctly in only one second. On Linux OOO310m19 needs also a log time to save but without an error.

I can confirm within version 3.1.1 and DEV300m60
Same error with OOO320m2.
NOT reproducible with "example.xls" and "Ooo 3.2.0 RC2 WIN XP DE-multilingual version German UI activated [OOo320m9 (Build 9476)]"! But I know that effect, I see the message app. 2 times a week, always when working with CALC documents, pls see screenshots. @raal: Please contribute more details how you were able to reproduce that problem: What Platform / OS? OOo-Localization? With what document? How often? @guentera: Your sample document is not ideal because it contains links to other documents. Co you only see the problem with that document and when saving or also in other situations? How often do you see the problem with your sample document? Always? 1%?

Today I saw message when I exported a range containing a table and a chart to PDF. I will contribute crash report ID asap.
I created a crash report with Id rjmmfwc Although currently the exact circumstances of the problem are not known, I will set status to NEW, because we have several confirmations for the phenomenon. May be we will have to split this issue into several new ones for various aspects, reasons and manifestations of this problem. @raal @guentera Did you also observe the damaged Icons from my second screenshot?
@rainerbielefeld The links are important. And it's also important, that the documents of the links don't exist. I only see the problem if I save documents like “example.xls”. I get the message when ever I save exemple.xls with ooo31m19, ooo32m2 or ooo32m8 (with Win2000 and XP). But ooo32m9 is different. It crashes after a long time (about 25 minutes) without an message. I made a new file “newexample.xls”. If ooo had restored this file don't use it again. I tested this file on Win2000 and XP. Always when I save this file, I see the message “Runtime Error ...”. This looks like your screenshot. Please see the attachments “newexample.xls” and “screenshot.jpg”

New test with OOO330m20 on Win2000 and Win7. The example file was saved quick and without an error message. I think this issue can be closed. @rainerbielefeld Thank you very much.
