Description Unknown 2003-01-08 17:06:51 UTC
It would be nice to have the same table editing features present in writer in
the impress program.

As tables are an often used element of presentations and we are also
able to import tables from PowerPoint, it makes sense to implement
tables also in Impress. These tables should not replace the Calc-table
(available as OLE) or a Chart-OLE, these new tables are not thought
for calculating or different visualisation-types. Very often such
table is just used for presenting data-series mixed with text.

Sorry, we could not get that feature in as it was no keyfeature for the Q.

I recently encountered this after using a computer at work with MS PPT to
initially design a slide, then came home to my own computer and tried to
duplicate it with Impress. I tried using the Writer OLE suggestion found in the
forum, but I wanted to have a different hyperlink from each cell of the table,
but I could only get Impress to see the table as a whole as the link.

Of course, I could be missing something, but in most situations I have found
Impress more straitforward to use than PPT, but this is one area where something
that is quite simple in PPT has been quite difficult to duplicate in Impress.
