Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 106531
Impress: truncated formula object (presentation mode)
Last modified: 2017-05-20 11:08:22 UTC
This behavior happens in the current OO version 3.1.1 on Ubuntu Linux 9.10 (Ooo310m19 build: 9420 in openoffice.org-core1:3.1.1-5ubuntu1 ) I will attach a small sample presentation to demonstrate the misbehavior. This document contains: * a single impress slide * a formula object (most probable any other object will do as well) * a rectange made of a thick red line around this formula object * when you go to the presentation mode (full screen view) then the lower part of the formula objects gets cut away by the box (even though the box line itself does not touch the formula) :( This misbehavior does NOT happen with the same presentation file and OO3.1.1 under WinXP.

Sorry, not reproducible under linux with an original OOo version 3.1.1. Please have a try.
I have tried this with the current original version of OO under Ubuntu 9.10, and this behavior IS still there! What I mean is the tiny cut-off of the small letter "g" at the bottom. By the way: It took me half a day to get OO3.1.1 running under Ubuntu. There must be an easier way to get the most popular free office software runnig under the most popular free linux...
No, sorry, the g appears completely.

I double checked on my OO3.1.1 under Ubuntu 9.10: The lower end of the "g" gets cut off. I will attach a screenshot. It doesn't have anything to do with the red rectangle around (it still happens if you delete this rectangle), so it seems to be a poor display problem of the formular component under linux (impress full screen mode only). I will change the component setting of this issue accordingly. @wg: Your screenshot doesn't look at all like a reasonable result. The proper formula has "betas" in it and no funny crosses at all!

Sorry, I think I will leave the setting of this issue's "compoment" and "subcomponent" to someone who has more insight into OOs internal structure...
This still happens with OO 3.2.0. (final release version from OOo website) under Ubuntu 9.10.
Ok, reproducible under Ubuntu 9.04. Reassigned.
Reset assigne to the default "issues@openoffice.apache.org".
