Description Mechtilde 2009-11-25 15:52:15 UTC
You write a formula into B1 like "=A1"

you mark the cells you want to fill
choose "Edit -> fill -> Series... -> Linear"

then you lost the formula

You can fill series using the mouse in a spreadsheet

You can't use "Edit -> fill -> Series... -> Linear" to do the same thing via dialog.
This is inconsistent.

This is a regression

To get for formulas the same filling as with the mouse, you have to use Fill.. >
Down not Fill.. > Series. The item Fill.. > Series is for filling cells with
values. There is no difference to older versions.

let's then close as invalid?
Comment 3 Mechtilde 2009-11-26 14:09:53 UTC
why has the handling changed?
Comment 4 Regina Henschel 2009-11-26 18:28:54 UTC
@Mechtilde: Why do you think, the handling has changes? I use WinXP and in all
of my OOo versions it works in the way, that "fill series" generates values and
"fill down" copies the content.
