Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 107300
change to template folder when selecting template file type
Last modified: 2014-02-14 12:52:27 UTC
When generating a new template based on an existing one and saving it, the template folder isn't automatically chosen as file destination, instead the unspecific C:\documents and settings\own files (or whatever this is called in English) is default folder and "odt" default extension to save new file. When changing "odt" to "ott" to save the file as new template, the folder list remains the same, leaving the user the right choice of the folder to ensure, the template is shown in the template list of OO Writer. users might not know where these templates reside. Pls. change the behaviour such, the template folder is being chosen when "ott" as extension type is checked.

You should save with "File.Template.Save" from menu to get template folder by default. Changing component to "Framework" as long as this topic is also related to Calc or Draw/Impress template handling.
you are right, thanks. Good enough if you are sure, that people read their manuals;-)
