This is a slight variant of the request for reading more current
versions of Lotus 123 spreadsheet files.

As best I can discren, OO can read WK1 files, but can't write 
them.  WK1 is one of the oldest and most common spreadsheet 
formats.  WK1 files have been the lingua franca of exchanging 
numeric tabular data for years (long before XML).  It would be 
convenient if OO could write those files as diverse 
programs like DB2 import and export data cleanly to and from 
WK1 format files.  This format often works better than the 
less standardized CSV format.  Eventually there may be widespread
adoption of an XML equivalent, but until then WK1 is quite useful.

OpenOffice.org Issue Tracker - Feedback Request.

The Issue you raised has the status 'New' pending further action, but has not
been updated within the last 4 years. Please consider re-testing with one of the
latest versions of OOo, as the problem(s) may have already been addressed.
Either use the recent stable version: http://download.openoffice.org/index.html
or consider trying the new OOo 3 BETA (still in testing):

To grep the issues easier via "requirements" I put the issues currently lying on
my owner to the owner "requirements".
