Description wrekced 2009-12-12 09:13:54 UTC
When I try to export my data as .ods or .xls it makes a blank document.
I'm running Ubuntu 9.10
My OS is up to date

On which way you tried to export your data?
To export data:
Register your database.
Open new spreadsheet, hit F4, select your odb file, select table, drag and drop
table into sheet, your data from table will be inserted.

I was trying to use the "export" command under the file menu. Your suggested
method may work, but it is far from an obvious solution! Besides, if you have an
"export" menu item, shouldn't it work? Why go about things so back-assward? And
why no export to CSV or SQL?

What version of OOo you use, downloaded from OOo site?
In that version this option grayed out, and can not be activated.

Or use OOo from ubuntu source?

I am going to mark this issue as a duplicate of
http://qa.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=59369 'Export table/query data
to spreadsheet-type files through menu'

Why is this a duplicate of that? I am trying to tell you that something that
already exists is not working! Do you hear me? You have completely missed the
point of my report! When I use the "export" function in the menu it makes a
blank file. What else is there to say:
1. I am using the Ubuntu package
2. There exists in the "file" menu an item: Export
3. Clicking "Export" and saving the .pdf generates a file
4. This file has headings for the data, but no data
Comment 7 Mechtilde 2010-01-09 09:26:13 UTC
what do you want to export?

tables?

querries?

what else?

> 1. I am using the Ubuntu package
This issue tracker for OOo downloaded from OOo site, if you use ubuntu packaged
OOo, please submit your bug: https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/openoffice.org
>2. There exists in the "file" menu an item: Export
This is a hard coded menu item can not remove from Base but it is grayed out,
not active (grayed out meant you can not use in that application), at least in
OOo downloaded from OOo site. If in Ubuntu version is active ask them.
But it is not active on opensuse version, too (same source ubuntu version).
