Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 107673
incorrect animation undo actions
Last modified: 2017-05-20 11:11:25 UTC
"motion path" animation undo is broken 1. sometimes performing an undo will just skip all actions with path points and undo whatever operation was performed before that, losing all path modifications; 2. sometimes it will leave the motion path where it is, instead inserting black line where the path was previously
Please give a detailed step by step description when this does happen. Thanks.
1. create new presentation; 2. insert any object; 3. switch to custom animations, 'add', motion paths, "curve", 'ok'; 4. drag some curve, doubleclick to end drawing; 5. doubelick the curve, drag endpoint to some other location; 6. press ctrl+z. result : motion path is left at the new location, but black line is restored at the previous location 7. deselect everything, select motion path, move it elsewhere; 8. doubleclick motion path, move endpoint; 9. press ctrl+z result : path is restored to the state before moving, ignoring endpoint move
I replicated this bug using DEV300m70 on a PC running Vista. The results were as indicated. I also did a variation, after step 4 I pressed PLAY to watch the motion of the object. It followed the motion path. I made a change to the path, then pressed PLAY again. The motion was the same as the original path. It is possible that this is a problem changing motion paths, rather than undoing those changes.
Dolly , 01/27/2010 I was able to successfully replicate this bug on Windows Vista with different version of Open office. Configuration used : Windows Vista Pentium(R) Dual Core CPU T4200 @ 2.00 Ghz 2.00 Ghz RAM: 4.00 GB 64 bit operating system My open office version is different from what is used. Version open Office OOo-Dev 3.3.0 Dev 300 m 70(Build: 9478) I performed all the steps that have been described by 'richlv'. It is true that "motion path " animation undo is broken and is resulting in unwanted display of motion path as fixed line when pressing ctrl+z. Follow up tests: 1)Whenever i changed my end point of the curve to a different location, and press Ctrl+z , it resulted in fixed black line at the old location (from where i tried changing my end point) and it left the motion path(dashed grey line) at the new location. --> Then i tried deselecting everything. Again i selected only the motion path's end point and took it to a different location. I investigated that when i pressed Ctrl + Z , my black line was removed and my motion path went to the new location. 2) I tried motion paths as "curve" , "polygon" and "free form line". All resulted in same. 3) I tried removing the object , so that custom animation is removed. Object was removed ,animation was also removed but those fixed black lines were still there. I tried the same thing in MS power point , there were no lines and both the object and motion path was deleted. 4) The color it is showing is black , as default color is black. I changed the color to white and red, still i was able to see white lines/red lines on my object. This is important to customers because any custom animation of user paths on the object results in unwanted fixed lines which causes inconvenience to customers to make that slide again.
Follow up test added : 1) Whenever i changed my end point of the curve to a different location, and press Ctrl+z , it resulted in fixed black line at the old location (from where i tried changing my end point) and it left the motion path(dashed grey line) at the new location. --> This happens not only for end points but for all the points in the selected user path of custom animation. 2) I also investigated that when you press ctrl + z two times , that black line is removed which was the cause of the failure.
Reproducible. Reassigned.
