Content?
Comment 2 nadesan 2010-01-04 12:25:25 UTC
Dear Sirs,
Thank you for your reply.

How to reproduce:
1 Open or make one presentation(.odp) that contains more than six slids.
2 Select 'Handout' ,print format. For example two slids per sheet.
3 Select 'Print'.
But its preview is six slides per sheet.

Issue:
Why can't we select handout format ?

For the contrast,I had same test on IBM Lotus Symphony.
Then this case not shown.

If you have any question, please tell me.

Best regards,

If you select View/Handout Page this is not for printing . You can set the
printer settings directly in the print dialog. Just use File/print to bring up
the print dialog. Under "print content" you can select what to print: slides,
handouts, notes etc. "Slides per page" lets you select how many pages should
appear on each handout.

Dear sirs,
Thank you for your reply.

Format for Handout contains

But this issue not occurred on old OpenOffice.
Would you please have a test on OpenOffice3.0?

I attach my screenshot.
It shows that I selected 9slides per page, but print preview shows
6 slides per page.

Thank you.

Print Preview Version 3.3.0
Comment 7 mgruenkerr 2010-05-30 00:17:57 UTC
I attempted to reproduce this issue with current development build

MS - XP
OO-dev 3.3.0
DEV300m78 (Build 9501)

1) Opened a document with 8 slides

2) went to file->print. The Print dialog opens with the "Page Layout" tab
active. The first slide is shown in the preview.

3) On the Page Layout tab I selected the Pages per Sheet radio button and
selected 6 from the drop down menu

4) The preview pictured on the LHS changed to display 6 pages of slides (see
attached picture)

5) I switched to the "General" Tab (picture 2). At the Bottom Right "Document"
is set to slides. Slides per page is grayed out showing 6

6) Selected "Handouts" from the drop down menu labelled "Document"

7) The slides per page is still 6, however all 8 previews are shown on the top
quarter of one
page. (picture 3)

The dialog box shown in nadesan'S report were not available in this build.
Comment 9 wolframgarten 2010-05-31 11:46:28 UTC
@mgruenkerr: the changes of the print dialog have not yet arrived on the mac
builds. So it is not possible to compare them. Could you please attach you
picture 3?

My apologies the attachments ended up with 107822 - I have no idea how that
happened.
I have the feeling that between the Page Layout slides per page, General Tab-->
Slides per Page and the General Tab-->Handouts something is getting lost.

Comment 13 cemkaner 2010-06-06 07:01:09 UTC
I just don't see a bug here.

Configuration: OOo m77 running on Windows 7

1. Create an 8-slide presentation
2. File | Print : Slides -- > see KanerImage1. We see 1 slide per page. Slides
per page is grayed out because you can't change slides per page on this dialog.
3. You change the number of slides per page on the Page Layout dialog. Hit the
Page Layout tab, change pages per sheet to 6. It shows 6 slides per page. See
KanerImage2
4. Now go back to the General tab and you'll see 6 slides per page. See KanerImage3
5. Now let's switch to Handouts. Oops! we see a preview that shows two pages of
handout and each page has 6 pages. See KanerImage4
6. But that's what we asked for. We asked for 6 slides per handout page on the
General tab, and we asked for 6 slides per slide page on the Page Layout slide.
So we get 6 x 6 slides on the handout page. Don't like that? Go back to Page
layout and cut back to 1 slide per page (KanerImage5, then KanerImage6)
7. And if we want more slides per page on the handout, we can go back to General
and switch from 6 slides per handout page to 9 and now (KanerImage7) we see 9
slides.

As far as I can tell, this is working exactly as I would expect.

One more note. I get the same final printout from PowerPoint. That is, when I
select (printer is adobe pdf) 6 Pages Per Sheet in layout and then 6 slides per
handout page, I get a printout in which each page shows 36 slides. PowerPoint's
print preview incorrectly shows 6 slides per page in this case, whereas Impress
correctly shows 36, but the printouts from both programs are equivalent. See
file KanerImagesPowerPoint.pdf.
