Description corigo 2009-12-21 06:17:20 UTC
I loaded a TTF (Pigiarniq available at: http://www.fontsquirrel.com) font on my
system that has 5 faces: Normal, Heavy, Bold, Italic, Bold Italic. My OS shows
that I have successfully loaded all faces of the font (KDE 4.3.2 on Ubuntu 9.04
fully updated). The same TTF file when loaded on my Windows XP works fine. OOo
displays all faces of the font. On my Linux install, on the other hand, the
"Normal" face is not available.

Also none of the OTF fonts loaded are available in OOo on my linux.

Please read the guide lines
(http://qa.openoffice.org/issue_handling/pre_submission.html): This is surely
not a P1 issue!
@ sba: Please have a look.

Confirming on OOo32rc1. Haven't looked too deeply into the problem, but I noticed that three of the five
Pigiarniq styles have their SubFamily name in the NAME-3.1-subtable as "Regular", whereas their
counterparts in the NAME-1.0-subtable and in their PreferedSubfamily name are correct: "Regular",
"Light" and "Heavy". I guess these families were copied and modified and some style bits were left
unmodified too. This can result in them being considered to be duplicate font faces... so it looks like the
problem may lie in the fonts themselves. On the other hand OOo should try to behave the same on all
platforms.

The OTF-thing is a duplicate to issue 43029 which has been implemented for OOo32.

Now on version 3.2 on Windows 7 I have exported a file in OO to PDF and find that
my Pigiarniq font has been substituted in the exported PDF to another font
entirely (and not Times New Roman).

Once again in Linux(x64) with OO3.2.0 I find that the Pigiarniq font does not
display correctly, but does on Win7 (same OO)
