Last modified: 2014-06-14 00:18:16 UTC
Often times, powerpoint (ppt format) files with korean text has problem in impress where the text boxes with korean characters can't be selected for editing. I have example files I can upload if necessary. Thanks Woojin

NOT reproducible with "Ooo 3.1.1 WIN XP DE[OOO310m19 (Build 9420)]"! Linux specific? Can't check with 320m8 @woojinlee; What does "can't be selected" mean exactly? Before you file further issues or post again here, please read our guidelines on <http://qa.openoffice.org/issue_handling/pre_submission.html> and <http://www.openoffice.org/bugs/bug_writing_guidelines.html>, then contribute a clear step by step instruction containing all observations (error messages ...), _every_key_press_and_every_mouse_click_ how to reproduce the problem, and explain why you believe that your results are unexpected. That means (for example): do not write something like „I am not able to ...“, but „6. left mouse click on … expected: …, color of … changes, … actual: no …., color remains white, no … Screenshots might help to explain the problem.
Sorry, not reproducible under Linux using m8. Dragging window over the textbox selects it. Clicking into the text selects the box and sets the cursor into it.
Created attachment 67004 [details] Screen capture video demonstrating the problem

Created attachment 67006 [details] Screen capture video of OO 3.2 RC1 that behaves incorrectly
Here are the ogg videos: capture1.ogv and capture2.ogv I have the presentation file loaded in two separate instances of impress. capture1 shows the 3.1.1.4 that comes with opensuse 11.2. As shown in video, the pointer changes from arrow to "I" as it moves over the text and I can select the text fine. capture2 shows the 3.2.0 rc1 from openoffice.org. In the video, the pointer stays as an arrow instead of changing to "I" when it moves over the korean characters. It behaves normally when moving over the title box in english alphabets. thanks Woojin
Ican partly reproduce the problem with 3.1.1 under linux. but in OOO320_m8 the behavior is gone. Please have a look if it works for you, too. Thanks for the videos.
The capture2.ogv video is 000320m8 and that's the one having problem with selecting the text box. By the way, I'm running opensuse 11.2 with English as the primary language and Korean as the secondary language. Also running kde 4.3.4. Thanks Woojin

OO 4.1.0 Windows XP I do not have access to a Linux machine as the original post had used, but I am unable to reproduce the issue using OpenOffice Impress 4.1.0 using Windows XP. The steps I took in trying to reproduce this bug: SETUP 1) Control Panel > Regional and Language Options > Languages Tab > Check 'Install files for East Asian languages Initial Test 1) Create a new Impress presentation with Korean characters in a text box 2) Successfully edited the contents of the text box Follow-up steps: 1) Download original posts sample presentation that had previously seen the issue 2) Successfully edited the contents of the text box Additional Follow-up steps 1) Added other alphabet characters from other languages to the slides (Chinese & Japanese) 2) Successfully edited the contents of the text box
