Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 108144
PDF's not "signable"; user permissions are not correct
Last modified: 2017-05-20 10:11:37 UTC
As of Adobe Reader 8, the Reader (no, not acrobat, the Reader) can sign pdf files. OOo PDF files can't be made signable. Even if all user permissions are turned-off (which I think is required), the PDF's never say that signing is allowed; always "Signing: Not Allowed" This is a defect because Adobe Reader reports: "The document contains hidden actions that may not be intended or known by the end user. Actions include JavaScript actions (document open, save, etc.), playing multimedia, executing a menu item, etc." This error report should not appear if all user permissions are really turned-off. Thanks, Lance

Closing duplicate.
This is not a duplicate of 47895: * 47895 is asking for added functionality within OOo. * This is reporting the failure of an existing OOo feature (properly turning-off user permissions of a PDF). Yes they deal with two different kinds of signatures: * 47895 is author signatures * this is user signatures They are not the same thing.
MRU->FL: you are already owner of issue 47895 (sign PDF doc's), thus I will hand you this one also over... ;-)
