I copy text and images from a web page to paste in a document. If the web page
uses https:, the images are not displayed. If it is http:, the images display.

I suspect that the issue has to do with the use of a wild-card SSL certificate.

MRU->MAV: Can confirm this. For example, copy all content from
https://banking.postbank.de and paste into Writer -> it looks that the graphic
links cannot be resolved when copying as HTML content.

Also confirm for a.m. URL, 
1. WRITER HTML Document created by copy / paste contents into a new blank 
  document does not show images. Context menu for images will not show image
  preview.

2. Strange: Menu 'Open' and a.m. URL into the file name pane will open a 
   document that shows the images.

3. Also curious: When I open context menu in document 1. after step 2. context 
   menu will show correct image preview.
