Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 108405
does not show first pages in .doc file containing images on its pages
Last modified: 2010-01-21 10:15:20 UTC
When I open a .doc document containing images on its pages, it skips serveral few pages in the beginning. Had I knowb where to attach a sample file, I would do it.
Created attachment 67252 [details] Shows only the last page
Created attachment 67253 [details] The first images in the file are skipped, in all versions of OOO as I understand
That's the way the document was created in MS Word. I opened it in Word 2003 and 2007 - it looks exactly the same as in MS Word...
Closed, not a bug here.
So, in your opinion OOO does not have to import .doc files correctly - is it what you wonna say that you can open it in MSWORD? I cannot open it in Openoffice - it's the question about importing into OpeOffice an MSWORD document , and OOO miserably fails so I cannot work with this format. That you can open it in MSWORD is irrelevant to the subject matter.
The document opened in OOO show a lot less pages than if opened in MSWORD - that is the problem. In MSOffice it shows all pages - there are more than one, in OOO - only the last one.
I think we are talking around the problem here. A guess: 1. you have made a document in Word 2. you have imported it in OOo and saved it 3. re-opened in Word a pages were missing. But you gave us only the broken document *after save in OOo* so that it looks the same in both programs. Is it correct? What we need is the *original* Word document *before* saving in OOo. I can notice differences between the import in OOo and loading your file in Word (but I just have a Word viewer) but the differences are not that there is *a lot* of missing pages. In example.doc: both programs show 1 picture while there are indeed 3 graphics one other each other. In example2.doc: only 2 graphics both visible in the Word Viewer while OOo only shows one. So please detail adding screenshots showing the differences and make sure you have attach the original Word document.
A slightly better description could have eased to evaluate the problem here. *** This issue has been marked as a duplicate of 98426 ***
