Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 108715
Help Viewer: image shows up truncated after first show
Last modified: 2017-05-20 11:33:19 UTC
Open Calc help, index "recognizing;column and row labels" You see a help page with an image near the top. Browse to other help pages, then come back. Now the image is truncated to show only the left half of column A. If you click the image, the handles mark its correct size. Might be related to issue 90395 which you fixed in 2008.
The file is helpcontent2/source/text/scalc/guide/address_auto.xhp and the image is default_images/res/helpimg/names_as_addressing.png Using a dev version of main_transform.xsl, the image first is shown as a redborder placeholder with the text "Read error", then after a second the image shows up correct. This is the same every try. Looks like a timing problem.
With different UI languages I can see as follow (in Calc 3.2 RC4): Finnish: placeholder with gray frame with test "VND.SUN.STA..." etc. Swedish: picture of half of column A with swedish text "Rad ..." English & Germany: like swedish with correct language ("Zeile ...". As far I know in the finnish laguagepack pictures are not localized so they are from default english version. I hope this information help correct the problem for every langpack.
Investigation reveals that the assumption that it is a timing problem seemed to be confirmed. The image is inside a table and the table does not get the right size. Thus, the image is truncated. The table gets its size when the graphic is completely loaded and its size can be determined. Unfortunately, to adapt the table size the view size is needed. The view size is not available, when the image is completely loaded before the view is created.
Removed the table as a quick workaround. We will see if this helps after the next CWS hcshared25 build.
Adjusting target, because this issue does not meet the criteria for minor release OOo 3.2.1 and a workaround exists.
Reset assigne to the default "issues@openoffice.apache.org".
