Description tinux 2010-01-27 21:38:33 UTC
1) open a new writer document
2) type some text
3) set font to Bitstream Vera sans
4) change style to either bold or italics -> the text disappears.

This behaviour occured only after upgrading to Mac OS X 10.6 "snow leopard",
since then in any version including 3.2rc4 I use right now, on Mac OS X 10.6.2.
I read somewhere that font handling changed a lot in snow leopard. There is
another font I used before the system now does not even accept. According to
Apple Font Book the Bitstream fonts are o.k, however.

The issue seems to have to do something with the font chemical.ttf (available
here http://www.iac.uni-stuttgart.de/Praktika/Quali/Chemical.ttf ). This font is
marked as broken or incomplete since Mac OS X 10.6. Any document containing
parts formatted with chemical.ttf is displayed or printed badly, see attachment.
This occurs even if the font is not installed on the system.

To reproduce error:

1) Open document test.odt
2) Select all, change font to Utopia
3) The omitted text should appear

Hope this helps...
