Description john_malon 2010-01-28 02:14:44 UTC
I downloaded OOo_3.2.0rc4_20100125_Win32Intel_install_en-US from filehippo.com.
I tried to install 3.2 RC 4 over my 3.11 installation. When I did, at
approximately 98% of the way through the RC 4 installation, I received the error
message "Error 1310. Error writing file:msvcr90.dll."

This message is similar to issue 105599 when installing on Vista, whereas I am
using Windows 7.

I tried to find the templates folder, but was unable to.

I will do more troubleshooting to try to resolve the issue, but I assume others
with have this issue.

Thanks for a great product. I look forward to using 3.2.

I uninstalled as much of 3.11 as I could (what was left after the first RC 4
install) and ran CCleaner to cleanup the registry. I redownloaded RC 4 directly
from OpenOffice.org. When I reinstalled RC 4, I got the same error message.
The 1310 error occurs during the "Registering Product" phase (after the
OpenOffice shortcut is copied to the desktop).

I hope this helps.

I enabled the viewing of hidden files and folders and was able to locate the
templates folder in C:\Users\John\AppData\Roaming\OpenOffice.org. I deleted the
OpenOffice.org folder and tried to reinstall. I received the Error 1310 again.

It looks like OO is trying to write msvcr90.dll to the
C:\Windows\Winsxs\InstallTemp\20100127204959061.0 folder. I deleted the
msvcr90.dll file while I had the 1310 error on the screen and pressed Retry. It
went a little further but gave the error 1935. An error occurred during the
installation of assemble ... and rolled back the installation.

I downloaded OOo_3.2.0rc3_20100118_Win32Intel_install_en-US from filehippo.com
and installed it without any problems at all. The 1310 error seems to be
specific to RC 4.

Can you give the url to to RC4 on filehippo? Have you tried
http://download.openoffice.org/index.html to download too? See also issue 108610.

This issue is true for the en-us files also. Is there a way to find out what
files may be broken also?
Comment 7 chrisbrand 2010-01-28 08:25:50 UTC
I could not install any of the OOo-3.2 RC's 2,3 or 4 on Windows 7 Ultimate but
I've just installed OOo-dev 3.3 successfully on the same system.
I hope this gives you a clue as to what is wrong.

I've just now downloaded BrOOo_3.2.0rc4_20100125_Win32Intel_install_pt-BR.exe
from the OOo download site and it installed on the windows 7 machine without error.

This is the latest file as it has the 25/01/2010 date on it.

If it was in english I would be very happy.
Comment 9 chrisbrand 2010-01-28 10:43:26 UTC
OK I went a little lower down the list and found the english version
http://download.services.openoffice.org/files/extended/3.2.0rc4/OOo_3.2.0rc4_201
00125_Win32Intel_install_en-GB.exe, which was uploaded 26-Jan-2010.

This installed on my windows 7 ultimate laptop without any error.

At last, thank you!

Issue was fixed with CWS native282 and integrated in OOO320_m12 aka RC 5
