Description genreith 2010-02-19 13:59:31 UTC
I've got a document with several page styles all formated with A5. When I export
it to PDF I get two slightly differnt page sizes. This seems to be a problem of
rounding millimeters to points rsp. inch. Writer defines A5 to be 148 mm x 210
mm . In some cases this leads to a pdf pages size of 5.83 x 8.27 in, in other
cases to 5.82 x 8.24 in. This is a tough problem when submittung such pdf files
for printing a book.

And here is my workaround: I change the standard units to pt and take care that
each of my page formats only contains integer pt values.

I cannot reproduce this with my samples. COuld you please attach a small sample
document of yours? Thanks for supporting us!

I tried to reproduce the effect with my actual sources. I reset the units from
pt back to millimeters and set all used page formats to A5. However that could
not reproduce the malfunction. So actually I'm not able to provide a small
sample with source. All I can do is give the original output pdf that shows the
problem.

I did some research in my backups and found an old version that shows the
problem. Just open the odm file, do not refresh all the links. Just export to pdf.

I used centimeters as unit and the German user interface. The export actually
uses options "without compression" and "include generated blank pages". But that
should not really matter.

I cannot confirm this. Exporting the attached odm and opening in Acrobat Reader
(all Windows) does not show the problem. The pages are correctly recognized by
Adobe Reader.
On which system do you run OOo?

I just took the attached odm file and could reproduce the problem. If you look
at the pdf in zoom mode - say 300% - it shows the page size bottom left. The
first page has page size 5,83 x 8,26 whereas the second page has 5,82 x 8,26 .

I'm using Windows Vista Home Premium x64 with SP2 and German language.

@PL: Bug? Feature? WONTFIX?

Sum up:
Both page 1 & 2 of the attached odm should have the same size (5,83in x 8,26in)
when exporting to PDF:
- They don't (attached PDF) when exporting over "File - Export as PDF" using the
defaults.
- They DO when exporting over "File - Export as PDF" using the "PDF/A-1a" option.
- They DO when printing over "File - Print" and choosong "Adobe PDF" (when
present on the system)
