Sometimes buffer lines must be created around objects. Duplication tool is good
for rectangles and circles. For more complex objects another tool must be
created. The desired tool should create contours around objects with given
distance.  This tool must have options: a) the distance from the object (may be
negative number); b) number of copies; c) start an end colours.

Workaround: Duplicate the object. Set the fill type to none. Set the line type to continuous line with 'width = buffer × 2'. Convert this line to contour.
