Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 109941
OO 3.2 Writer loses bulleted list formats on save
Last modified: 2010-03-17 07:42:41 UTC
Bulleted lists including outlines, numbers and graphic bullets open with improper formats (wrong indentation, wrong spacing, wrong character after bullet or outline (i.e, no tab or space). Happens continually - must export PDF to retain formats and appearance before closing, and must redo the document on reopening in Writer if any changes need to be made. This is a big problem, and renders the text editor essentially unusable as a professional platform. I have PDFs and screen shots to illustrate the problem - not sure how to upload.

Please attach the original document. Are you saving as Word document? docx?
Uploading original document - saved as Word 97/2000/XP DOC. Document contains proprietary & copyrighted information - no reposting or redistribution. Thanks

There we can only see that the document has already been written incorrectly by OO Writer. We need a correctly looking document (best in native .odt format) which then will export incorrectly to .doc format. Otherwise we are not able to debug anything on this.

When I take the attached odt and save it with OOo 3.2 as .doc file and reopen it in OOo, all the content looks good. Did you create the doc with an older OOo or with the current 3.2?
Closed, the problem does not occur anymore in OOo 3.2.
Closed.
