I am trying to open an RTF file, http://myweb.dal.ca/mdunphy/MC.rtf , and Open
Office freezes up (unresponsive, requiring a forced kill), during the open process.

This is repeatable with Open Office 310m19 on Linux Fedora 11 x86_64, with open
office 3.2 on Windows 7, and with "Neo Office 2.0" on OSX.  

The software "wine wordpad", which is part of WINE 1.1.32 can open the file, so
I don't think it's a broken file.

Reproducible with "Ooo 3.1.1 WIN XP DE[OOO310m19 (Build 9420)] on PC", OOo
hanged with 100% CPU load after I tried to open MC.rtf from WIN Explorer.
Reproducible with "Ooo-Dev 3.3 multilingual version English UI WIN XP:
[DEV300_m76 (Build 9491)]" when I try to open document from OOo file menu.

No problem with MS WORD Viewer.

I tested with OOo4Kids and I see the freeze too. 

*but* this file is two pages only, and is 2,4 MB ?

So I tried to open it using TextEdit, and I saved it again : the text now is 16 KB only, and OOo4Kids 
opens it easily.

I'll attach the new file, to let the experts have a look on both (a diff -Naur told me that the first one is 
ull binary, while mine is UTF-8, or at least human readable).

MRU->OD: the document contains many multi-column sections on same page. This
seems to lead to a loop in Writer.
