Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 110908
copy / paste not adjacent cells (multi selection) to wrong target?
Last modified: 2010-05-22 09:29:16 UTC
I marked two cells in different columns, there are one or more columns between. Inserting the cells from clipboard, the cells just beneaht with no column between them.
Reproducible with "Ooo-Dev 3.3 multilingual version English UI WIN XP: [DEV300_m76 (Build 9491)]"! Steps to reproduce: 1. Open attached "sample.ods" 2. Press and hold <cntrl>, click 'B1', 'D1' 'B1', 'D1' will be highlighted 3. <cntrl>+<c> for copy 4. click 'B2' 5. <cntrl>+<v> for paste Expected: 'B2', 'D2' should be filled with contents of 'B1', 'D1' Actual: 'B2', 'C2' will be filled with contents of 'B1', 'D1', Contents of 'C2' will be overwritten (if warning has been deselected) In former versions this operation was not possible, in step 3 you would have seen the message "This function cannot be used with multiple selections" Problem with fix for Issue 25855 or desired behaviour? I also find good reason to paste not adjacent contents to adjacent cells, and pls. also see Issue 26329!
Created attachment 68962 [details] sample document. pls see comment RainerBielefeld
It's intended behavior, see http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Calc/Features/Multi-range_copy_and_paste.
Thought so, thank you for the link! @erni35: If you have good reasons to request other behavior, please discuss on discussion page of a.m. WIKI page before you reopen this issue with detailed, evident reasons.
Ok, thank you. I have often to copy cells and want to paste tehm not consolidated. What about an additional point in the dialog "insert content"? Erni35
