Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 111134
Installation error: openoffice30.msi not found
Last modified: 2010-05-07 05:25:05 UTC
When trying to install Openoffice 3.2, it would not let me do it but always get stuck, stating that "openoffice30.msi" could not be located. Following that, error 1714. The older version of Openoffice.org 3.2 cannot be removed. Contact your technical support group. Any idea how to overcome?
P.S. I tried to reinstall the older version OO30 but that won't work either stating that a newer version first needs to be removed (which could parenthetically not be installed). Catch 22: Is it cheaper and less nerve racking to buy Microsoft Office?
Not reproducible with latest developer snapshots and WIN XP. Not a valid bug report! @reporter This is the Issue Tracker system, not a helpdesk! You can get help from the public users mailing list users@openoffice.org or on the forum at <http://user.services.openoffice.org/en/forum/> Pls. feel free to reopen the issue if discussion with other users will have lead to useful bug report information. The question is when and why your installation tries to find "openoffice30.msi", the correct installation file is "openofficeorg32.msi". Before you file further issues or post again here, please read our guidelines on <http://qa.openoffice.org/issue_handling/pre_submission.html> and <http://www.openoffice.org/bugs/bug_writing_guidelines.html>, then select correct information for all Issue Tracker selection fields, contribute a clear step by step instruction containing all observations (error messages ...), _every_key_press_and_every_mouse_click_ how to reproduce the problem, and explain why you believe that your results are unexpected. That means (for example): do not write something like "I am not able to ...", but 6. left mouse click on … expected: …, color of … changes, … actual: no …., color remains white, no … Screenshots might help to explain the problem. Please - always specify your OOo version, localization, download source you used for your tests! - Always contribute a meaningful Summary I will close the issue finally within 10 days if we don't get required additional information.
Looks more like a WIN Installer problem, we had similar reports suggesting resolutions like on <http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;290301>. Closing due to reporter's inactivity.
