Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 111155
Fields formatted as hidden text show in TOC/indexes
Last modified: 2019-07-22 10:09:14 UTC
Content of a conditional field displayed in indexes (table of contents, lists of figures, index of tables) despite of its hidden text formatting. (I had to add a new index update icon to the Hungarian cross reference toolbar to handle this problem.)

Testing: Switch on Tools-Options-OOo Writer-Foirmatting Aid-Hidden text and View-Nonprinting characters to show the hidden text of the example.
Same root cause as 27377. TOC/Indexes do not retrieve character formatting of their references. Hidden text is a character formatting. -> Text is not hidden *** This issue has been marked as a duplicate of 27377 ***

I have reopened this issue, because the normal (ie. OpenOffice.org's) way to handle hidden text is different from the real character formattings. Please, check the test file: plain hidden text and not conditional text fields are missing from TOC references.
@nemeth: You are perfectly right. Sorry, I mixed up different things... @OS: different remarks: - contrary to other character attributes, the "hidden text" attribute is generally preserved in TOCs/indexes -- Exception: fields[1] formatted as hidden WHILE in a paragraph with non hidden text will show -> bug. -- Fields formatted as hidden are hidden when the whole paragraph is formatted as hidden text -> Ok I will attached a document illustrating this. [1] *Any* fields, not only "conditional fields" as first reported. In the first attached document, the text noted "hidden field" is not a "real" field but a text mark, a text marked as reference...
