Description sambadi 2010-04-29 11:03:20 UTC
I have upgraded (fresh install) to ooo 3.2 on XP SP2. I work on same files as
edited in previous versions of ooo. The VLOOKUP works only when the sourse file in
in the same worksheet, otherwise it crashes. I have teste in:
- but also in .xls and .ods
- ooo 2.0 (OK xls/ods) and 3.2(CRASH xls/ods
- PC desktop + laptop
Comment 1 michael.ruess 2010-04-29 11:10:12 UTC
Spreadsheet component.
Comment 2 Rainer Bielefeld 2010-04-29 12:42:21 UTC
NOT reproducible with my own test kit and "Ooo-Dev 3.3 multilingual version
English UI WIN XP: [DEV300m77 (Build 9496)]" or "Ooo 3.1.1 WIN XP DE[OOO310m19
(Build 9420)]"!

My test:
0. unzip my attached "testkit.zip"
1. open "sample1.ods"
2. modify 'A2' (for sources in same sheet) or 'A8' for sources in sheet2
   both worked fine for me
3. open "sample2.ods
4. Modify 'A1' to show contents from "sample1.ods"
10. close both documents (do not save)
11. redo from step 3
    should also work fine

It seems that the problem occurs only for particular documents?

Not P1 with obsolete OOo version

@sambadi:
May I ask you to read read our guidelines on
<http://qa.openoffice.org/issue_handling/pre_submission.html> and
<http://www.openoffice.org/bugs/bug_writing_guidelines.html> before you file
further issues or post again here?
Then select correct information for all Issue Tracker selection fields,
contribute a clear step by step instruction containing all observations (error
messages ...), _every_key_press_and_every_mouse_click_ how to reproduce the
problem, and explain why you believe that your results are unexpected.
That means (for example):
do not write something like "I am not able to ...", but
  6. left mouse click on …
     expected: …, color of … changes, …
actual: no …., color remains white, no …

Screenshots might help to explain the problem.

Please
- always specify your OOo download source, version (pls. check!), localization,
OS and Platform you used for your tests!
- attach a sample document (always with ODF source document)!
- Always contribute a meaningful Summary

Comment 8 Rob Weir 2013-04-05 14:41:22 UTC
Cannot reproduce.

Tried with AOO 3.4.1 on Windows 7.

1) Detached files from ZIP in first attachment (Pls see my comment)

2) Verified operation of VLOOKUP in sample1.ods, the file with local VLOOKUP

3) Loaded ssample2.ods. Changed value of cell from 1 to 2 to 3. It worked for 1 and 2, but not 3. Then noticed that the formula was not specify the same range as sample1.ods, so updated it to:

=VLOOKUP(A1;'file:///C:/testkit/sample1.ods'#$Sheet1.D2:E101;2)

4) At that point the formula calculated correctly.
