Dears,

when you use the properties "linked style" for a style, if you change a
attribute in the Child Style, you broke the link, for this attribute, between
the parent and the child style.

The enhancement should be to manage each attribute to rebuild the link.

I attach a example of solution create by a French User ("Huit") -

Link isn't broken when modifying format of linked style.
