Risto Jääskeläinen 2010-05-08 18:39:28 UTC ```I am very sorry been not a financial expert but I think there is need for one in Help lines of CUMPRINC-function and may be also for its UI. I am quite sure this function is good for user with his loan payback to the bank for calculation subtotal of principal he is paying. For interest there is some other functions (for example CUMIPMT). Because mathematic is quite same if we change bank and user (loan and investment) maybe CUMPRINC is good for investment too. In Wizard I can read: "Cumulative Capital. Calculates the total amount of the repayment share in a period for an investment with constant interest rate." Das Kapital jawohl, aber ... why not "Principal" because name of function use it? For investment bank is paying "repayment" to the user so this may be correct but I think "a period" still wrong. I think there is range of periods involved? That for UI. Next to the Help lines: [hd_id3146139]CUMPRINC [par_id3150140]Returns the cumulative interest paid for an investment period with a constant interest rate. Here is talking about interest payments? Noway correct! [hd_id3154502]Example [par_id3153570]What are the payoff amounts if the yearly interest rate is 5.5% for 36 months? The cash value is 15,000 currency units. The payoff amount is calculated between the 10th and 18th period. The due date is at the end of the period. [par_id3149884] =CUMPRINC(5.5%/12;36;15000;10;18;0) = -3669.74 currency units. The payoff amount between the 10th and 18th period is 3669.74 currency units. I cannot find anything wrong here except that if result is negative. So money is not coming to user's pockets? It is not investment payoffs calculation after all? I hope somebody who knows financing look this case. And I hope this is not all my misunderstanding. If so I regret.``` Uwe Fischer 2010-05-10 08:35:42 UTC `Will take care of this once the Help function CWS hccalc01 is integrated` thorsten.ziehm 2010-09-30 15:32:20 UTC ```The CWS hccalc01 is targeted for OOo 3.4. Therefore I change the target of this issue to that target too.``` Uwe Fischer 2011-01-21 12:31:00 UTC `changed target` Marcus 2017-05-20 11:33:22 UTC `Reset assigne to the default "issues@openoffice.apache.org".`
