Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 111913
URL displayed for unreachable linked graphics should not be part of the drawing content
Last modified: 2013-02-07 22:42:00 UTC
If a linked image is pasted from Draw into Writer within a grouped graphic, then Writer will show the link-address instead of the image in the first place. If the link-address is very long, it forces the annotation to shift downwards. Even after refreshing the link to show the image, the annotation cannot be moved close to the graphic. The ghost of the link-address works like a placeholder.

strange behaviour with embedded graphics was discovered originally on Windows7, but could be reproduced for the sample document on Linux (OOO320m12, Build:9483).
We need all documents including the original Draw document and the picture.

This is a very special case. - Unreachable graphics have to display their URL somewhere to allow the user to correct the link. - Currently, the link is part of the drawing while it should be part of the UI (e.g. shorten display in the Drawing and full path in a dialog) Thus, reassigning as enhancement for the Drawing module) This is not a Writer caption problem. The caption gives enough place as needed for the Drawing. The problem is that this URL display IS currently part of the Drawing.
