Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 113590
WW8: drawing text boxes imported in wrong position
Last modified: 2017-05-20 11:22:15 UTC
After creating a text box page and saving it, trying open it with OpenOffice Writer gives me a bad view. I can submit created page and many other details - just ask for them by sending me a message at covy@pexacons.ro. I also could post the MS WORD page on my site and then send you the link. Thanks a lot ! PS I MUST work with IBM Lotus Symphony and / or OpenOffice, but I HAVE TO SEND my text documents in a MS Word 1997 compatible format.
- Attach the document here using the "Create a new attachment" link. At best an .odt and the .doc document. - describe what you mean with "bad text box" - Which OOo version are you using?

Created attachment 70923 [details] Document that OpenOffice Writer displays wrong
Created attachment 70924 [details] OpenOffice Writer image after opening sample.doc
"wrong" means how OpenOffice Writer displays the "sample.doc" MS Word 2003's document. I'm using the new 3.2.1 version of Ooo - build 9502.
With an exported we can only see THAT there is something wrong, but not WHY. Please attach the document in native odt format, so that we can reproduce and debug the problem. We need to see what's going wrong when exporting to MS Word format.
There is no 'original .odt document' - I was may be a little confused ! Trying to search what's hapenning - I created the 'sample.doc' document in MS Word 2003 and tried to load it in Writer and the result was an incorrect view ! That's the question - how to import the 'sample.doc' in Writer ? The other question - 'documents created in Writer that look bad in MS Word' was not documented by me nor related.
OK, now I understand - the problem is about importing a .doc. MRU->HBRINKM: open attached document and see all the drawing text boxes located in the upper right of the page.
Reset assigne to the default "issues@openoffice.apache.org".
