Description Unknown 2003-02-12 08:48:40 UTC
When exporting a presentation as eps file (and probably other formats as well),
OpenOffice creates the files at a resolution equal to the X server resolution
and also uses the X server's color depth.

I.e. if my X server runs with 75dpi and 16bit color, the exported eps file will
have 75dpi and 16bit color. This is a problem if there are graphics on the
exported page. These graphics may lose quality if they are at a higher
resolution than 75dpi. To obtain a 300dpi eps file, I have to restart my X
server with a resolution of 300dpi, quite inconvenient and probably impossible
on windoze and for non X11-experts.

There should be a dialog to specify export parameters such as dpi and color depth.

Could this be a duplicate of Issue 4499?
Comment 4 robertf 2004-01-16 17:28:34 UTC
This issue definitely seems to be a duplicate of 4499. It is not specific to
Linux except insofar as it refers to X. The fact that the exported number of
pixels (and dpi) is based on the current display, and isn't modifiable, applies
to Windows also. This critical issue (more of a defect than an enhancement) has
been around for a long time. I wish I was able to help resolve it.
